Avalide: Indications

Avalide tablets contain a combination of hydrochlorothiazide and irbesartan. This drug is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by lowering high blood pressure, by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily, helping to prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems.

Use this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually once daily with or without food. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment….

Avalide: Side Effects

As with any medicine, Avalide can cause side effects and the most common include: stomach pain, heartburn; muscle pain; dizziness, drowsiness; headache; runny or stuffy nose, sore throat; or dry cough. If any of these persist or worsen, call your doctor.

The following are more serious side effects, witch need immediately medical care: an allergic reaction – difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; eye pain, vision problems; feeling like you might pass out; chest pain, feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion; fever; swelling, rapid weight gain; urinating more or less than usual, or not at all; jaundice; or dry mouth, increased thirst, drowsiness, restless feeling, confusion, increased urination, fast heart rate, feeling light-headed, fainting, or seizure (convulsions)….

Avalide: Precaution

Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you are allergic to it, to other drugs, or if you have any other allergies. Tell your doctor if you are using other medicine and if you have or ever have had any of the following conditions: kidney disease; liver disease; congestive heart failure; glaucoma; low or high levels of potassium in your blood; asthma or allergies; high cholesterol or triglyceride levels; gout; lupus; or diabetes.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended to use this medicine without your doctor advice. If you get pregnant while using this, tell your doctor immediately….
