Carbetapentane-phenylephrine-pyrilamine is a combination of a cough suppressant, a decongestant, and an antihistamine, used to relieve cough due to asthma, bronchitis, and a cold. This medicine does not treat an infection.

Among with its needed effects, this medicine can cause severe side effects such as: an allergic reaction – rash, itching, difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, hives; difficulty urinating, mental or mood changes, fast or irregular heartbeat. If you notice any of these seek medical help immediately.

The following are less serious side effects, which also need medical care if they persist or worsen: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, trouble sleeping, and dryness of the nose and mouth….

Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you have any type of allergies. Tell your doctor if you are using other medicine and if you have or ever have had any of the following conditions: high blood pressure, heart or thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, or prostate conditions.

Because this drug can cause dizziness and drowsiness, do not drive and use heavy machinery until you are sure you can perform this activity safely. Alcohol beverages should be limited.
