Carboprost tromethamine – injection: Side Effects
Nausea, diarrhea, flushing, and fever may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Serious side effects may occur: headache, stomach/pelvic pain, cramps, coughing, chills, breast tenderness, muscle aches.
Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge, muscle stiffness, weakness, drowsiness, dizziness. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, unusually fast or slow pulse, mental/mood changes, vision changes….
Carboprost tromethamine – injection: Precaution
Your medical history should be discussed with your doctor, especially the following: lung problems or trouble breathing (e.g., asthma), high or low blood pressure, kidney or heart problems, bleeding problems, seizures, anemia, pelvic infection, uterus problems, diabetes, liver problems (e.g., jaundice), any allergies.
Use of alcohol should be limited, as it may aggravate certain side effects of this medication (e.g., dizziness, drowsiness). Use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness (e.g., driving).
This medication should only be used during pregnancy to end the pregnancy. It is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding….
