Disopyramide is a sodium channel blocker known as an anti-arrhythmic drug. This medication is used to treat certain types of serious and possibly fatal irregular heartbeat, such as persistent ventricular tachycardia, decreasing the risk for blood clots, and this effect can reduce your risk of heart attack or stroke.

Disopyramide: Side Effects
Among with its needed effects, can cause severe side effects such as: an allergic reaction – rash, itching, difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, or hives; chest pain; swelling of the feet or hands; unusual weight gain; irregular heartbeat; shortness of breath; fever, chills, or sore throat; skin rash or yellowing of the skin.
Less serious side effects include: dizziness or lightheadedness; difficult urination; dry mouth; constipation; blurred vision; stomach pain or bloating; and headache. If any of these persist or worsen, medical care may also be needed.
Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you have any type of allergies. Tell your doctor if you are using other medicine and if you have or ever have had any of the following conditions: congestive heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney or liver disease, glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, urinary retention, or benign prostatic hypertrophy.
Because Disopyramide can cause dizziness and drowsiness, do not drive and use heavy machinery until you are sure you can perform this activity safely. Also avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol.
