Peeling Skin: Description
The peeling of skin may occur as a reaction to a series of inflammatory processes of the skin or skin damage.
Peeling Skin: Causes
Burns of any degree of severity can cause skin peeling. Some types of medications such as topical retinoid used for acne can cause skin peeling. Adverse reactions to drugs, such as cancer chemotherapeutic agents can also lead to scaling. Any condition that results in the formation of a blister can result in flaking of the skin in the area of the ampoule. Despite this peeling skin is not normally associated with a rash; some rashes can be associated with skin peeling.
